President's Summer Schedule

In the collective agreement it outlines the Local Union President will conduct union duties two days per week, with regular DE/CSA duties three days per week during the months of June, July, and August.  This year, we have agreed to a slightly different arrangement to meet a specific need of the company, and increase the availability of the President during those three months.

This year, the president is running tests two days per week in June/July/August, with one day per week in May and September.  This provides one more day for union availability and duties during the busy summer months and has been beneficial.  Most weeks going forward, Mark has regular duties on Wednesday and Thursday, and Union duties on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.

That being said, Mark has a standing personal appointment on Wednesday evenings, so contacting him on Wednesday may not be responded to until Thursday.  If a matter is pressing, please contact him by phone or reach out to another union steward or executive committee member, otherwise you may need to exercise some patience in getting a response.

Mark also checks his email regularly on the weekends, and can usually make time to speak with members when people are typically working less.  Sometimes during the work week it can be impossible to fit in all the phone calls each day after members end their shifts and before they go to bed.
