The Women of Steel program gives women in our union the tools and skills we need to fight for and achieve equality and take leadership roles in our workplaces and in the USW.

At Local 9511, we turn those words into action.

Our Women of Steel Committee is dedicated to strengthening women’s voices within our union and our workplaces. We foster connection, mentorship, education, and leadership development across all classifications in our bargaining unit.

We believe informed members are empowered members. By encouraging awareness of our Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), company policies, and the Employment Standards Act (ESA), we help women build confidence in navigating workplace issues and engaging in their union.

We create space for dialogue, growth, and solidarity — a place where women can support one another, develop leadership skills, and contribute meaningfully to the strength of Local 9511.
